Gregg Proposes End to Gas Sales Tax

John Gregg is proposing an end to the sales tax on gas in Indiana. He call his plan Hoosier Handshake. "I am convinced this will fire up our economic engines and put more money in the pockets of Hoosiers," Gregg said. He projects that the average Hoosier family would save from $261 to $522 annually. It would eliminate about $540 million in revenue to the state, but Gregg indicates that other states have found comparable amounts through efficiency audits of state government, and he is confident that would hold true for Indiana as well.
