Lafayette City Council and County Commissioners Vote to Protect Gender Identity

The Lafayette City Council voted unanimously to amend the city's Human Relations Ordinance to include age, veteran status and gender identity to the city's protected classes. The vote occurred on the second reading of the amendement, which is the final one.

The Tippecanoe County Board of Commissioners also voted unanimously to approve gender identity as a protected class in Tippecanoe County. The county amendment must pass on a second reading.
